"I caught the Striped Bass at Lake Gaston, Brunswick County,
Virginia, on Jan. 2, 2000. It is a citation fish weighing 24 pounds, eight ounces and 37 inches
long.
It now hangs on the wall at Southside Virginia Community College in Alberta,
Virginia,
where I am the Public Relations Coordinator." Lake Gaston 20,000 acres and 34 miles long,
approximately 1.5 miles wide at the lower end of the lake, plus 350 miles of
shoreline. Offers public ramps for boating, fishing, hunting, camping, and
a minimum of public facilities. Striped bass, large mouth bass, crappie,
sunfish, and several varieties of catfish .. and the possibility of walleye,
yellow perch and chain pickerel.
215 acre lake for fishing, boating, etc. Picnic facilities and boat ramp available.
150 acre lake with boat ramp.
